We are only a few weeks away from Milestones and we have officially covered all reading and math standards. We will begin reviewing next week starting with Place Value, Rounding, Addition and Subtraction. In reading, our big focus will be re-reading the text to look for evidence that supports our answer.
Next week we will be taking our trip to Pope High School. Please remember to wear gray STEAM shirts for our trip to Pope. We will be eating lunch at school, so there will be no need for sack lunches. We will also be celebrating Diversity Week next week. We will get to hear from a speaker on Wednesday who will be speaking to us about Burma, China, and Indonesia. Speaking of Field Trips, we will be visiting West Rock to see recycling in action on May 8th. I will be sending out permission forms for this trip next week. We are so excited to get to visit a working recycling facility. There is no charge for this field trip. Special thanks for PTA for covering the cost of our buses! As we enter into 4th quarter and get closer to Spring Break, now is the time when students start to get a little amnesia about the Tiger PAWS promise and classroom expectations. Please be sure to check your child's behavior log each night. When something is written in the behavior log, please talk with your child about this and be sure to initial by that day. Knowing that we are all in communication about these behaviors is so important to keeping students accountable. I want them to enter 4th grade next year with a sense of personal responsibility and knowing that their hard work pays off in great ways!
