The (slight) chill in the air, pumpkins at the grocery store, and kids excitedly sharing their plans for this upcoming break... we are officially falling into fall now! It was so wonderful to have a good old regular, testing-free week of school this week. We continued working with multiplication and every applied our knowledge to Legos. The kids had a great time modelling arrays on their Lego build plates.
We also started our unit on Rocks and Minerals. Many students brought in some of their collections to share, and a few may have even added to theirs at recess this week as they searched for the rarest gems Tritt has to offer. If you are taking a road trip next week, now would be a great time to stop at one of those little road-side gem mining shops. :) Conference forms will be going home after the break. I am looking forward to meeting with you about your child and telling you all about how their year has started off. We will also be looking at the first report card at this conference, but you will be able to access it as early as noon on October 14th via ParentVue. Please make sure that you have a ParentVue account and are able to login. This is how all report cards will be shared this year. We will not be sending home paper copies. Here's a look ahead at what we will be learning after the break: Reading: Context Clues Writing: Revision and Publishing Math: Relating Multiplication and Division Science: Rocks and Minerals STEAM: Recycling Upcoming Dates: Oct. 2nd = DASH Pep Rally Oct. 3rd = STEAM Day - visit from WestRock Recycling Oct. 4th = Reading Inventory Oct. 10th = Early Release Oct. 14th - 18th = Conference Week (Early Release)
