As Thanksgiving approaches, I must take a moment to tell you how thankful I am to teach this group of students. They are such an amazing bunch of kids. I love their courage to take on new challenges in the classroom and their ability to work together and problem-solve. I feel so blessed to be their teacher!
This week we wrapped up our Native American rotations. The kids really enjoyed getting to visit other classrooms to learn all about the different tribes. We also finished reading Because of Winn Dixie. The kids were a little disappointed in the ending, so a few of them decided to write their own endings for homework on Wednesday night. I was so impressed with their ideas. Maybe they can advise Kate DiCamillo on ideas for a sequel... We watched the movie today to compare the two. Everyone knows the book is always better than the movie though! As we near the end of the semester, our stash of extra snacks is getting low. We are in need of Goldfish crackers, Cheez-Its, pretzels, or any other individually packaged healthy snack options. We would be appreciative of any donations for our back-up snacks. :) Our field trip to the Pope Theatre to see Alice in Wonderland is coming up on December 12th.
