This week may have been Early Release, but boy, was it full of excitement. We met our first Tritt-Mazing Race goal. We are only $102. away from our next goal too! That's only $5 per student. We will receive a movie in popcorn in the classroom if we make it. Our next county day is on Monday. Don't forget to send in those envelopes.
It was so wonderful getting the chance to sit down with each and every one of you at Parent Conferences this week. I am so thankful for the time we had to sit together and celebrate what makes each one of these kiddos so great. It means so much to me that you entrust me with your children each day. I look forward to many more conversations with you all. Please reach out to me if you have any lingering concerns or questions. Next week is a full week. We will be going on our Tellus Field Trip on Thursday, Mystery Book Reports are due on Friday, and who could forget that the Tritt-Mazing Race Finale will be on Friday! In Math, we will continue to work with multiplication and division as we study the Associate Property and continue practicing strategies. The kids have been doing great with division strategies. I am super proud of them. In Grammar, we have been studying Idioms. The kids did the funniest Idiom skits this week. Stay tuned for some hilarious performances that will be available soon on See Saw for you to see. Speaking of See Saw, I sent home a flyer this afternoon giving you details on how to view your child's See Saw portfolio if you haven't already had the chance. It is such a great way to sneak a peak at what they've been up to in class. In Social Studies, we began our first research project today. Mrs. Bates is kicking this unit off by having the students study different Native American tribes from throughout our history. The kids are researching with PebbleGo and recording their research with Kidspiration on the iPads. Ask your child what Native American tribe they began researching today.
