It has been an exceptional week! We celebrated Exceptional Children's Week and Valentine's Day. The students got to hear a great message from some Special Olympic Gymnasts in the LLC. We also celebrated Valentine's Day with some Unlock to Box fun and a special snack. Of course, the kiddos got to give each other Valentine's too!
We have been working with reading analog clocks and calculating elapsed time in math this week. This is a great skill to practice at home as well. Ask your child to figure out what time you'll arrive at your road trip destination or calculate the time it takes to travel from home to the park. Any opportunities you have to talk time with them will really reinforce what we are doing in class. Here is a look at what we will be learning when we come back: Reading: Figurative Language Writing: Opinion Writing Math: Elapsed Time Grammar: Comparative and Superlative Adverbs Vocabulary: None this week Social Studies: Explorers to the New World Finally, here are some upcoming dates: 2/17-2/21= February Break (No School) 2/24 = Hermenabelle and Shannon Bond (SAFE) Presentation 3/11 = Early Release Day 3/16 = WestRock Field Trip
