It's hard to believe that we are already to December! These next three weeks are sure to fly by with all of the upcoming events.
In Math this week, we will continue studying multiplication and division as we solve 2-step word problems with all 4 operations. The students are doing such a great job explaining their thinking. This is a great time to review addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts when you have a few minutes during the week. We have (so far) taken our 0s, 1s, 2s, 10s, and 5s quizzes. We will take our 11s on Friday. In reading, we have been working on using details in text to find the main idea and make inferences. Book reports were assigned on Monday. Remember that your child will need to practice the book that they choose several times in order to be ready for their read-alouds. I am so looking forward to hearing them read to the class! We are digging into fossils in science right now. The students are learning how fossils form and they even created their own cast fossils with Mr. Guinta in the Science Lab on Friday. They were so excited to show me the coyote and fox footprints they used to create their cast. Our next STEAM Day is December 10th. As we plan for this fun day, please begin saving any boxes to send in with your child to be used in this challenge. You can begin sending in empty boxes tomorrow.
