I must say, we have had some fun this year, but this week might just top them all. The kids had such a great time at Camp Learned-A-Lot. I hope that they have come home with their camp backpacks and told you all about the fun things we did this week. From reading stories in the tent to pancake breakfast, care packages to class party, trail mix and nature walks it was just a week of laughter and smiles that I won't soon forget!
We have one more big day coming up on Monday. We cannot wait to see you all for our Poetry Coffee House. I'm asking the students to wear a black t-shirt, pants/jeans, and (if they have one at home) a fedora or beret a-la the beatnik style of the 1960s. We will have yummy treats and each child will be sharing their favorite poems they have written in class. It's going to be a great morning celebrating great young authors! See you at 10:30! We have sent most items home already, but your child will be bringing home some final graded papers on Monday. Please note that your child will not bring home a paper copy of their final report card. These will be available on Parent Vue like in the past. Tuesday will be the last day to bring book bags to school. No book bags needed on the last day. Yearbooks went home today to those that ordered them. We did some signing in class today, but I've asked the kids to bring them back on Monday for some additional sign time. If you did not order a yearbook, its not too late! Please see the email from PTA about how you can still order one, although they will not be available for pick-up until summer. We created a class memories book during camp this week and students are welcome to bring this back to serve as an autograph book if they'd like. Mrs. Pascual is also offering students the chance to come down to the Tech Lab on Monday morning to create their own autograph pages to stick in their yearbook when it arrives. I am still in disbelief that next week marks the last days of our school year. This class has been so wonderful. I'm not ready to say goodbye! They have (and you have) truly made my transition to Tritt this year such a smooth one. I am so thankful for the support you have given me and the confidence you have put in me to teach your children and help them grow. Thank you so much for making the such a great year! And finally, as I wipe a tear, please see the remaining upcoming dates below: 5/20 - Poetry Coffee House @ 10:30 - 11:15 5/21 - Early Release @12:30 5/22 - Last Day of School & Early Release @ 12:30... :(
