Office hours for Mrs. Cook will be 9:00 – 10:30 each morning. I will not be assigning you any new activities on Fridays. Instead, please use this day to complete any incomplete assignments. You may want to go back and look at your posts on SeeSaw and read the comments from me. 😊 If you’re still looking for ideas on how to spend your Friday, I would love love love to hear from you! Write me a letter or post me a message on SeeSaw telling me how your week went. Tell me what types of assignments you enjoyed and which assignments were tricky for you this week. I miss you and I love getting to hear from you! Today would also be a great day to check out the Specialists’ blogs. Digital Learning for Thursday, April 16th :
Office hours for Mrs. Cook will be 9:00 – 10:30 this morning. Today you will be logging into Clever to access a NewsELA article. I have created my own Clever page to make signing on easier for lots of apps we use! CLICK HERE for step-by step instructions to find my Clever page. Math (30 min): Complete the “Polygon or Not?” assignment in SeeSaw. Extension Option: CLICK HERE for your Polygons Math Choice Board. I would like for you to complete at least two of these this week. Work on it a little each day. Reading (30 min): Login to NewsELA (see instructions above) and read the article “The History of the Little Mermaid”. Answer the questions at the end of the article. Read independently for the remainder of reading. Remember, you should be reading every day for at least 20 minutes. The more the better! Reading (30 minutes): Listen to Mrs. Cook’s read aloud of The Great Mouse Detective – Chapter 12. *Check your inbox in SeeSaw to find the story. After listening to Chapter 12, you will go to your Class Notebook in Office 365 and respond to the three questions from the chapter. Limited Tech Option: Copy and answer these questions in your journal. 1. What are three character traits you would use to describe Harry Hawkins? 2. Why did Harry Hawkins help the Terrible Three? What was his motivation? 3. Do you think Harry Hawkins should go to jail for helping the Terrible Three? Explain why or why not. Read independently for the remainder of reading. Work on it a little each day. 😊 Reading (30 minutes): Listen to Mrs. Cook’s read aloud of The Great Mouse Detective – Chapter 11. *Check your inbox in SeeSaw to find the story. How was Basil able to identify the Terrible Three by name – Barney the Bank Robber, Freddie the Forger, and Percy the Pickpocket? (Hint: Think back to their visit with Sam Stilton, the grocer) 2. Describe how Basil and Dawson were able to break free after being tied up by the Terrible Three. 3. Think back to the question I asked yesterday about this all being part of Basil's plan. Welcome back kiddos! I hope you had a great Spring Break and are ready for another fun week of digital learning. I will be giving you assignments on Monday – Thursday this week. You will have Friday to catch up on any work you didn’t complete earlier in the week. Remember, you can send me a message on SeeSaw or ask your parents to email me if you have any questions about an assignment.
