Well, here we go. It is Sunday afternoon, which means that tomorrow will begin our first day of digital school. This is not something I ever anticipated in my teaching career, but I am thankful that we have been doing so much with technology this year. I think the kiddos will do a great job with their digital assignments.
I will primarily use my blog and Seesaw for updates. I know most of you already check my blog weekly but if not, you will need to check it daily for your child’s assignments. Daily assignments will be posted on my blog prior to my virtual hours and should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete each day. My virtual office hours will be from 9:00 -10:30 am each day. During this time, I will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding online assignments. Of course, if you find you have questions at any time during the day, please feel free to email me. I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Your child received a new QR code for SeeSaw on Friday. This code will allow them to post their classwork from home. If your child will be working from a device they will need to download the SeeSaw Class app. If your child will be posting their work from a computer, you will visit the link on the page and enter the code. Please go ahead and test this out and complete this survey if you have not already. If you need me to resend your child's code, please send me an email. Math and Science textbooks as well as StoryWorks Jr. magazine were also sent home on Friday for the students to use in their assignments. Please hold off on using the materials at this time. I will be assigning some tasks from these resources. Also, here is the direct link to the Digital Textbook page. It has login information on it: http://www.cobbk12.org/centraloffice/learningresources/digitaltextbooks.aspx The Invention Convention is still on! So please have your child continue to work on their invention - what a great project to work on while they are learning from home! The documents your child needs came home with them in a green folder on Friday. If you or your child have any questions please contact Mrs. Bates ([email protected]) or Mrs. Pasqual ([email protected]). Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this new transition. Tell your kiddo I miss them. Please send me pictures and updates of them working (and playing) from home! I am so excited to announce that we are officially STEAM certified! These kiddos have worked so hard and have been so focused on their PSAs about the importance of recycling. They've even gone a little further this week and thought about how not recycling, reducing, and reusing can impact animals. We started a new project using stop-motion today and the kids were so excited about it. In fact, Stop-Motion Studio app has a free version if your child comes home mentioning it and you'd like to check it out. There is a paid version with more features as well, but we've been using the free app in class. Here is a link if you're interested.
